I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.
Edgar Allan Poe
Its been about 3 years now that I discovered fanfiction and out of that discovery I was introduced into the "Twidom" or Twilight Fandom. While I will never regret entering the rabbit hole so to speak I can say it has been quite the MisAdventure. I have learned what cyber bullying truly is and its not pretty especially when its coming out of the mouths or shall I say fingertips of grown women. Most of which are mothers some even grandmothers.
Through the "Twidom" I have met wonderful people from all walks of life and from all over the world. I will never regret venturing into the unknown without doing so I would have never met some of the most exciting women I have ever had the pleasure of exchanging messages and comments with. I will not mention any names but they know who they are, my cat loving, graphic artist, nursing students with kids running amok, mommies just looking for a moments peace to read. Amazing writers that deserve a book deal but are to modest to admit it. Through the world of fanfiction I've been able to read everything from mob stories to BDSM and back again with some normal life tales thrown in.
Even with the amazing writers I have met and wonderful stories I have read it hasn't always been sunshine and roses. Those cyber bullies I mentioned well they like to beat these women down. Relentlessly screw with them about their real lives and their writing. Its been my experience that the bullies or trolls as i call them usually have their own sub par fiction published and are jealous of the others. Either way its the Internet and there will always be "haters" and the key is to laugh at them and move on never let them get you down.
As my time in the "Twidom" has come to an end I realize that the friends I have made will remain because, yes Twilight is over, but we have discovered that our mutual love of Robert Pattinson has matured and we can now discuss other topics like sports, cooking, art. But never religion or politics! My point is even though there are a few people in this "dom" that need their heads examined there are twice as many that will go on to be life long pen pals if not more.
